UMW Women’s Basketball Downs Edgewood, 55-27, on Tuesday Afternoon

The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team played tremendous defense and held Edgewood College to just 16.3% shooting on their way to a 55-27 win on Tuesday afternoon in Puerto Rico. The Eagles improve to 5-5 on the season. Tory Martin led the Eagles with 13 points.

Erika Carter had eight points, three blocks, and hauled in 11 rebounds. Meghan Comer scored five points, brought in 11 rebounds, and had three steals. 

The Eagles shot 25-67 (37.3%) from the field, 2-12 (16.7%) from three-point range, and 3-7 (42.9%) from the free throw line. The Eagles grabbed 50 rebounds, 13 offensive, and recorded 10 steals as a team.

UMW will be back in action tomorrow as they will face Virginia Wesleyan at 2 p.m. as part of the Puerto Rico Classic.
