The University of Mary Washington Women's Basketball team volunteered in King George at the Friends of the Rappahannock's annual Riverfest on Saturday, September 20. The event, comprised of donors and members of the surrounding community, dined on steamed crabs and barbecue listened to live music, and supported the FOR's mission within the community. This annual fundraiser supports FOR's advocacy, restoration and education programs. The event celebrates the health and beauty of the Rappahannock River.

The team worked closely with event coordinators helping with food service as well as event breakdown and aiding with the silent auction. The team has volunteered at this event for several years and each year enjoys meeting members of the surrounding area and giving back to the community.
