UMW Women's Basketball Falls at Lehman, 58-51

The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team fell behind by 14 points at halftime, climbed all the way back with a 14-0 run to open the second half, but fell at Lehman College, 58-51, on Tuesday evening in the Bronx. UMW falls to 4-4 on the season.

The Eagles led in rebounds, 50-45, but shot only 23% from the floor in the game, making just 4-23 three pointers. The Eagles forced 21 Lightning turnovers.

UMW was led offensively by junior guard Jenna McRae (Springfield, Va., Annandale), who had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Classmate Katie Wimmer (Vienna, Va., James Madison) added 13 points, and junior Rachel Martin (Annandale, Va., Bishop Ireton) added 10 points. Sophomore Carol Dye (Springfield, Va., Lake Braddock) added 11 rebounds for the Eagles.

Lehman was led by Louvinia Hayes' 25 points. The Eagles will face Cabrini College in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
