The Wimmer and McRae Show Lead UMW Women's Basketball Past Stevenson, 55-36
Junior guards Jenna McRae (Springfield, Va., Annandale) and Katie Wimmer (Vienna, Va., James Madison) each scored 18 points to lead the University of Mary Washington women's basketball team to a 55-36 win at Stevenson University on Wednesday in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles improve to 19=5 on the season, and run their win streak to 13 games.

McRae made 5-7 shots, including 3-4 three pointers, and went 5-5 from the line, and also added eight rebounds. Wimmer was 6-10 form the floor, including 2-4 three pointers, and went 4-4 from the line. In all, UMW shot 42% from the field, and outrebounded the Mustangs, 44-26. The Eagles, among national leaders in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense, held Stevenson to 10 field goals on 48 attempts. Freshman guard Sam Partonen (Burke, Va., Robinson) scored seven points and added four assists for UMW. 

Stevenson kept the game tight early, as the score was tied at 10 apiece, but the Eagles went on a 9-0 run, and kept the lead at double digits throughout the second half.

The Eagles will close the regular season on Saturday by hosting Wesley College at 2:00 p.m. for senior day.
