WINCHESTER, VA - The 23rd ranked University of Mary Washington women's basketball team dropped a 56-54 decision at Shenandoah University on Tuesday night, falling to 3-1 on the season.

The Eagles shot just 25% from the floor in the first half, but kep the game tight, trading the lead back and forth with the Hornets throughout the second half. Sophomore Jenna McRae (Springfield, Va., Annandale) once again led UMW in scoring with 18 points on 7-13 shooting, including 3-4 on three point attempts. Senior guard Ashley Reed (Fairfax Station, Va., Robinson) and sophomore center Lauren Kornacki (Glen Allen, Va., Deep Run) each had eight points for the Eagles. Shenandoah was led by Katherine Flint's 15 points.

The Eagles will return to action on December 2 in the home and CAC opener against Wesley College at 6:00 p.m.
