UMW Outdoor Track & Field Competes at Dennis Craddock Invite

The University of Mary Washington outdoor track & fied teams competed at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic in Lynchburg, Va. this weekend.

On Friday, the Eagle men saw Nicholas Onorato finish 6th in the 1500 meter for 4:05.71 and Dylan Wright finished 5th in the 5k with a time of 16:32.46. For the Eagle women, Maddie Phillips tied for 10th in the pole vault jumping 2.75 meters.

On Saturday, the men populated the long jump rankings as Rajai Walton got second with a jump of 6.90 meters, Samuel Gowe got fourth at 6.69m, and Aidan Smagh got eighth at 6.39m. The 4x100 meter relay of Jacinto Jones II, Reese Creadon, Matthew Rose, and Ian Chapman got seventh with a time of 42.22 seconds. Jacinto Jones II also got second in the 100m in 10.91 seconds and seventh in the 200m with a time of 21.63 seconds. Ethan Young finished eighth in the 110 meter hurdles clocking in a 15.74. Finally, Reese Creadon leaped over 1.78 meters for 10th in the high jump. 

For the women, Haileigh Byrd finished sixth for the 400 meter hurdles in 1:08.54 and Sophia Redmond getting seventh in the 200m for 25.58 seconds. Haileigh Byrd also flew to fifth in the long jump with a 5.36m jump.

The Eagles compete again on April 22nd at the John Hopkins/Loyola Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland.
