University of Mary Washington freshman Jacinto Jones II (Stafford, Va. / Colonial Forge) has been named as the Virginia Lottery University of Mary Washington Male Athlete of the Month for January 2023.

Jones turned in an outstanding month for the Eagles, gaining his second Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week on January 30, capping a month that saw him gain two top-10 finishes at the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlin Invitational, and finish third among Division III runners in the 200 meters at the primarily-Division I VMI Winter Invitational. His top times in both the 200 meters and 400 meters rank nationally.
