Keyes, Lawson Collect Major Awards as C2C Track & Field All-Conference Teams Named

Following the conslusion of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its awards winners for the 2021 outdoor campaign, with University of Mary Washington freshman Makaila Keyes gaining the women's rookie of the year, and UMW head coach Kunle Lawson collecting women's coaching staff of the year.

 

Women's Rookie of the Year: Makaila Keyes - Mary Washington
In her first year as a collegiate student athlete, Makaila had the top time in the 400, winning the conference championship. She also finished with the second best time in the conference in the 100 and 200, finishing 4th and 2nd in those two events at the conference championship, respectively.

 

Women's Coaching Staff of the Year: Kunle Lawson - Mary Washington
Kunle Lawson led Mary Washington's women's team to a second place finish at the conference championships, with 157 points, just 10 shy of first-place Christopher Newport. The Eagles saw two individual wins and seven all-C2C performances.
