UMW Track & Field Competes at CNU Blue-Silver Challenge on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Christopher Newport University Blue-Silver Challenge on Saturday, with many top results.

For the men, the 4x100 relay of Matthew Rose, Darius Reed, Tyler Sakimura, and Wilson Jackson crossed the line at 43.54. Freshman Ethan Young took first in the 110 meter hurdles at 16.13.

On the women's side, senior Jackie Smith finished first in the javelin at 112 feet, two inches, senior Jean Woodrum won the hammer throw at 133 feet, one inch, and Chloe Allison won the 400 meters at 1:06.00.
