UMW Indoor Track Competes at Maryland Invite

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the University of Maryland Terrain Invitational on Saturday in Landover, Md. The women finished in a tie for seventh place with 22 points, while the men finished fifth with 62.5 points.

Senior Erin Andrewlevich finished in fifth place in the 200 meter dash at 26.82 and eighth in the 300 meters at 43.38. Haileigh Byrd finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles at 9.72, and also took fourth in the triple jump at 10.16 meters. Jean Woodrum placed eighth in the weight throw at 12.67 meters.

For the men, Darius Reed was fifth in the 60 meters at 7.06, and Aman Casey finished first in the 200 meters at 22.78 as well as third in the 300 meters at 37.00. D'Andre Chandler-Byrd took eighth in the 60 meter hurdles at 9.01, and David Danek fnished second in the high jump at 1.95 meters. Kevin Munson took second in the pole vault at 4.25 meters, Ben Onguene was fifth in the triple jump at 13.24 meters, and Tristan Johnson was fourth in the shot put at 13.70 meters and sixth in the weight throw at 14.36 meters.

The Eagles will return to action this weekend as they visit the George Mason Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
