UMW Outdoor Track & Field Hosts Battleground Relays

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams hosted the annual Battleground Relays on Friday and Saturday at the Battleground.

On Friday, the Eagle men saw Stephen Tivenan finish second in the 3000 meters at 9:22.31, as UMW finished 2-3-4. Zoe Rafter was second on the women's side at 11:07.98, with Carly Hughes taking third. The men's 4x800 meter relay (Hall, Biles, South, Burklow) finished second at 8:13.65. The women's 4x800 (Story, White, Saling, Delean) took first at 10:14.98.

Erin Andrewlevich finished second in the 200 meters at 26.02, and Jillian Weisbeck took first in the 10K, at 37:36.

Ripken Smith took first in the hammer throw at 155 feet, as UMW finished 1-2-3 in the event. David Danek won the high jump at 6'6", Jean Woodrum won the women's hammer at 137'5", Victoria Chanthyasak-White won the high jump at 4'9.75". Ben Onguene won the triple jump at 39'6"and Daniel Lee won the javelin at 132'10".

On Saturday, the men saw the distance medley relay (Burklow, Biles, South, Tinsley) take first at 10:57.67, the 4x100 relay finish second, Chris Hall won the 400 meters at 50.30, Smith won the discus at 141'4" and was third in the shot put, and Rajai Walton won the long jump at 6.92 meters.

The women saw the distance medley relay (Knerr, Guzman, Saling, Hughes) take first at 13:07.77, the 4x100 relay take second at 43.43, Desmone Logan finish second in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:10.15, and Erin Andrewlevich won the 400 meters at 57.60.

In field events, Jean Woodrum finished second in the 34'2.75", Yamina James won the pole vault at 10'6", and Jackie Smith won the javelin at 119'3".
