UMW Indoor Track Competes at VMI Winter Relays

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the VMI Winter Relays this weekend, with several impressive results.

Senior Ripken Smith was the top Division III finisher in placing fourth in the weight throw, at 15.82 meters, and Victoria Chanthayasak-White finished fifth in the high jump as the top Division III finisher at four feet, 11 inches. On the men's side in the long jump, sophomore Rajai Walton took third overall and first among Division III jumpers at 22 feet, 6.5 inches. David Danek and Ben Onguene took fourth and fifth in the high jump as the top two Division III leapers at six feet, 2.25 inches.

The Eagles will return to action on Friday and Saturday as they compete at the Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Newport News, Va.
