UMW Indoor Track Competes at Vince Brown Invitational

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University on Sunday.

Highlights included sophomore Rajai Walton finishing first in the triple jump at 45 feet, 2.5 inches and third in the long jump at 22 feet, 3.5 inches. Junior David Danek was second in the high jump at six feet, 7.5 inches, and the men's 4x400 meter relay finished third at 3:30.49. Chris Hall placed second in the 800 meters at 2:00.12.

For the women, Jean Woodrum finished fourth in the weight throw at 13.76 meters, and Victoria Chanthyasak-White finished second in the high jump at four feet, 11.75 inches. Yamina James was fourth in the pole vault at nine feet, 8.5 inches, and Emily Knerr took third in the mile at 5:17.40.

The Eagles will compete again on Friday and Saturday at the VMI Invitational.
