UMW Track and Field Teams Compete at George Mason University Invitational

The University of Mary Washington track and field teams competed at George Mason University as part of the George Mason Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday, Rajai Walton took home first place in the long jump at 6.79m, winning by .03. David Danek won the high jump as he touched 2.09m, while Walton placed fourth in this event. 

Ripken Smith came in sixth place in the weight throw as he threw for 14.79m. Tristan Johnson threw for 14.38m, good enough for an eighth place finish in the weight throw. 

Erin Andrewlevich secured a third place finish in the women's 60 meter dash with a time of 7.94, just .04 away from defeating two VCU runners. Andrewleich also took an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash at 26.61.

Emily Knerr finished in third place in the 3000 meter run and she had a time of 10:35.72. Quintastia Horsley had an eighth place finished in the long jump at 4.56m. 

Rayna Smith touched 1.50m in the high jump to take a fourth place finish, and Victoria Chanthyasak-White also hit 1.50m to come in fifth place. 

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday as they will compete in the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
