UMW Track and Field Teams Compete at Bast Cregger Invitational

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the Bast Cregger Invitational in Salem, Va., this weekend. On Saturday, the Eagles saw sophomore Rajai Walton take first place in the long jump at 22 feet, 1.75 inches. Freshman Tristan Johnson took fourth in the shot put at 43 feet, 1.75 inches, and freshman Desmone Logan finished fifth in the triple jump at 34 feet, 0.75 inches.

Johnson finished first in the weight throw at 48 feet, 1.75 inches, while Ripken Smith took second at 47 feet, three inches. The men's 4x200 meter relay finished in first place with a time of 1:33.62, and included Nicolas Ammann, Darius Reed, Tyler Sakimura, and Bryce McAlpine. The women's 4x200 meter relay finished second at 1:50.32, and included Erin Andrewlevich, Noel Jackowicz, Valentina Leon Ledezma, and Brianna Lightfoot.

Sophomore Laurence Sneed finished second in the 1000 meters at 2:39.77, and sophomore Chris Hall took third in the 300 meters at 37.01. Andrewlevich won the women's 300 meters at 41.06, McAlpine won the men's 500 meters at 1:12.65, and Hall finished third in the 800 meters at 2:02.02. 

The men's 4x400 meter relay of Alec Biles, Hall, Sneed, and Andrew South finished first at 3:29.25.
