The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened competition at the Roanoke College Bast Cregger Invitational to raise the curtain on the 2018-19 season on Friday night. 

Junior David Danek finished first in the high jump with a leap of six feet, six inches, ahead of teammate Rajai Walton, who also leaped to 6'6". Junior Avery Haislip finished fourth in the pole vault at nine feet, 2.25 inches.

The meet will continue on Saturday.
