UMW Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Day Two of 2018 CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed in the Capital Athletic Conference Championships in Salisbury, Md., on Friday and Saturday. The Eagle women finished in third place, just 15 points out of first, and the men finished fourth.

The Eagles gained a first place with Daniel Forjan in the shot put at 48 feet, 11.5 inches, as well as freshman Rajai Walton in the high jump at six feet, nine inches. Jose Mundo finished third in the triple jump at 47 feet, 1.75 inches, as well as third in the 100 meters at 11.04 seconds.

On the women's side, sophomore Erin Andrewlevich finished first in the 400 meters at 56.70 seconds, and junior Jillian Weisbeck won the 5000 meters at 18:19.15. Freshman Isabella Anderegg finished third in the shot put at 38 feet, 10.25 inches, the 4x100 meter relay of Angie Cherikos, Andrewlevich, Quintasia Horsley, and Janel Moore took third at 49.08 seconds.
