UMW Women's Outdoor Track Finishes Second at Gallaudet; Men Place Fourth

The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field teams competed at the Gallaudet University Invitational on Saturday. The women finished in second place, while the men took fourth.

The women saw Isabella Anderegg finish first in the discus throw at 33 meters, third in the shot put at 10.79 meters, and third in the hammer throw at 34.15 meters. Sam Gorton won the hammer throw at 47.67 meters, and Maggie Larkin finished second in the 5000 meters at 19:29.29. Jackie Smith won the javelin throw at 36.24 meters.

On the men's side, Jake Phillips was second in the 5K at 16:34.67, David Danek won the high jump at 2.00 meters, ahead of second place teammate Rajai Walton at the same height, and Walton won the triple jump at 12.83 meters. Daniel Forjan won the shot put at 15.35 meters, as well as the discus at 42.55 meters, with teammate Ripken Smith taking second at 39.79 meters. Smith won the hammer throw at 45.34, with Forjan taking third at 39.90 meters. Smith was also third in the javelin at 42.52 meters.

The Eagles will be back in action in two weeks at the CAC Championships.
