UMW Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Towson Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Towson University Invitational on Saturday.

For the men, sophomore David Danek won the high jump at six feet, 8.25 inches, while Rajai Walton took third in the long jump at 22 feet, 11.25 inches. Dylon Garrett was seventh in the pole vault at 12 feet, 11.5 inches, and Jose Mundo was fourth in the triple jump at 44 feet, 8.75 inches. Austin Jones took fifth in the 3000 steeplechase at 10:28.11, and Jose Mundo took 17th in the 100 meters. Bryce McAlpine was sixth in the 400 hurdles at 56.24 and Dillon Schweers was 11th in the 5000 meters at 16:32. The 4x400 relay took 11th place.

The women saw Kristina Tosi place eighth in the high jump at four feet, 11 inches, Yamina James was seventh at 10 feet in the pole vault, and Quintasia Horsley was ninth in the triple jump at 34 feet, 4.75 inches. Jackie Smith was eighth in the javelin at 115 feet, 10 inches, and the 4x100 meter relay took seventh at 49.06. Janel Moore finished 11th in the 200 meters at 12.65 seconds, and Jillian Weisbeck was 10th in the 1500 meters at 4:59.3. Erin Andrewlevich took eighth in the 400 meters at 57.56 and 18th in the 200 meters, and Kristy White was 17th in the 800 meters at 2:28.04.

Both teams will be in action next Saturday at Gallaudet University.
