UMW Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Johns Hopkins; Danek Wins High Jump

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the 2017 Johns Hopkins Invitational on Friday, with freshman David Danek winning the high jump at 2.03 meters.

On the women's side, Janel Moore placed second in the 200 meter dash at 25.27. Yamina James tied for seventh in the pole vault at 2.65 meters. Sheree Turner finished seventh in the discus throw at 38.17 meters and seventh in the hammer throw at 41.32 meters.

On the men's side, Camron Rauch tied for fifth in the 200 meter dash at 22.45. Senior Chris Markham placed fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:11.48, while freshman Michael Rivera placed fifth at 10:29.97.

Jose Mundo placed fourth in the triple jump at 13.10 meters and Daniel Forjan placed second in the shot put at 15.40 meters.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday as they host the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at the Battleground Complex.
