The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday, with freshman Jeff Gibson breaking the school record in the 5000 meters. Gibson crossed the line at 14:45.77, good for fourth place among 52 finishers.

David Danek was eighth in the high jump at 1.92 meters in the predominantly Division I meet.

The Eagles will return to action on April 14 at Johns Hopkins University.
