UMW Track and Field Hosts First Invitational at New Facility on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field teams hosted its first meet in two years, and the first at the newly refurbished facility, on Saturday.

The Eagles turned in several top performances for both the men and women. The women saw the 4x100 relay of Erin Andrewlevich, Quintasia Horsley, Lauren Esprit, and Janel Moore finish first with a time of 50.47 seconds, Jillian Weisbeck finish first among the collegiate runners in the 1500 meters at 5:08.06, Moore won the 100 meters at 12.78 seconds as well as the 200 meters at 26.26 seconds, and Andrewlevich won the 400 meters at 1:00.47.

Avery Haislip won the pole vault at eight feet, 10.25 inches, Sabrina Johnson won the shot put at 37 feet, 10.5 inches, as well as the discus at 109 feet, 7.25 inches, and took second in the hammer throw.

On the men's side, the Eagles' quartet of Davidson, Zach Kerns, Kendall Moses, and Camron Rauch won the 4x100 relay at 43.83 seconds, Rauch took first in the 100 meters at 11.40 seconds and first in the 200 meters at 23.21 seconds. Moses won the long jump at 19 feet, 11.75 inches, Jose Mundo won the triple jump at 42 feet, 2.75 inches, Daniel Forjan won the discus at 136 feet, one inch.

Both teams will be back in action next weekend at Lynchburg College on Saturday.
