Moore Breaks School 200M Record at George Mason Patriot Games

For the second straight meet, the University of Mary Washington indoor tracks teams saw a school record fall, this time at the Patriot Games at George Mason University on Saturday.

Junior Janel Moore broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.22, good for second place overall. Freshman Erin Andrewlevich followed closely behind Moore, placing fourth in 26.61. Andrewlevich also scored a top-8 finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.73.

Also for the women, sophomore Jillian Weisbeck finished ninth in the 3,000-meter run with a personal best of 11:12.61 and freshman Hannah Huggins finished seventh in the 500-meter in 1:30.90.

On the men's side, freshman transfer Jeff Gibson ran a new personal best in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:21, placing him in third in the race on Friday. Freshman Cameron Rauch also scored a third place finish in the 200-meter dash in 22.89. Fellow freshman David Danek finished fourth in high jump with a clear of 1.94 meters.

Freshman Cameron Coates ran a personal best in the 500-meter, running 1:10.75 and finishing eighth while fellow freshman Nathaniel Thompson also had a top-8 finish in the 400-meter in 52.13.

Track and field's next competition will be Saturday at the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University.
