The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the George Mason University Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Fairfax.

For the women, sophomore Janel Moore finished seventh in the 200 meters at 26.62. Senior Taylor Cockerille was eighth in the shot put at 39 feet, 5.75 inches, and Sheree Turner was sixth in the discus at 132 feet, six inches.

For the men, junior Ben Sorensen finished fifth in the 5000 meters at 15:22.36, and Daniel Forjan was 10th in the shot put at 44 feet, 7.5 inches.

Both teams will be back in action next Saturday when they visit the Captains' Classic at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
