UMW Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Commonwealth Duals on Saturday at CNU

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Commonwealth Duals on Saturday at Newport News, Va., with several top results.

For the Eagle women, Janel Moore finished second in the 100 meter dash at 12.93 seconds. Moore took first place in the 200 meters at 26.70 seconds. Colleen Boyle finished first in the 5000 meters at 19:19.53, and Taylor Cockerille won the shot put at 12.74 meters and the discus at 35.22 meters. Cockerille took third in the hammer throw at 38.19 meters.

For the men, Jose Mundo finished third in the 100 meters at 11.61 seconds, and Calhoun Stirling finished second in the 5000 meters at 15:53.32. Dylon Garrett finished third in the pole vault at 3.77 meters, and Daniel Forjan won the shot put at 13.87 meters. Matt Parker took third in the javelin at 42.86 meters.

Both teams will be back in action next Saturday at Roanoke College at 9:00 a.m.
