UMW Track Competes at York Twilight Meet

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the York College Twilight Invitational on Wednesday night.

The men saw sophomore Glenn Taylor take first place in the 100 meters at 10.88 and first in the 200 meters at 22.16. Chris Markham won the 3000 Steeplechase at 10:14.01, Michael Lohr won the pole vault at 4.10 meters, and Nick Smith won the long jump at 6.61 metersas well as the triple jump at 13.18 meters.

Frank Corona won the javelin at 49.99 metersas the men finished fifth with 95 points.

The women saw Taylor Cockerille win the discus at 38.82 meters, and finish second in the shot put at 12.42 meters. Sheree Turner was second in the hammer throw and discus, and third in the shot put. Claire Harrington was second in the pole vault at 3.20 meters, Sam Park was second in the steeplechase at 11:47, and Janel Moore was second in the 100 meters at 12.73 seconds.

The Eagles will compete again on April 11 at George Mason at 10 a.m.
