Three School Records Fall for UMW Indoor Track at Vince Brown Invite

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed into the night on Sunday at the Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, with three school records falling on the day.

Sophomore Glenn Taylor broke the school record in the 60 yard dash with a time of 7.06, placing second. Sheree Turner broke the school record in the weight throw with a distance of 46 feet, and senior Claire Harrington broke her own school record in the pole vault, leaping to a height of 11 feet, 5.75 inches.

In other action, the women's distance medley finished first with a time of 12:52. That relay consisted of Lauren Braney, Janel Moore, Victoria Parent, and Rachel Lewis. Ian Granger finished fourth in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:55.

The teams will compete in the CAC Championships at Christopher Newport University on Saturday, February 21.
