UMW Indoor Track Competes at Ursinus Invite on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the Ursinus College Collegeville Classic on Friday night, with several top results.

On the men's side, sophomore Ben Sorensen finished first in the mile with a time of 4:26. Senior Nick Judy finished third in the pole vault, with a leap of 14 feet, 10 inches.

For the women, Claire Harrington finished second in the pole vault, with a leap of 10 feet, six inches. Taylor Cockerille took third in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 10.5 inches, and the Eagles finished third and fourth in the mile, with Teagan Young taking third at 5:16, and Rachel Lewis finishing fourth, also at 5:16.

The women's 4x400 meter relay finished second at 4:12. That relay consisted of Harrington, Janel Moore, Victoria Parent, and Lewis. The women's 4x800 relay finished in first place.

The teams will return to action next Saturday when they visit the Patriot Games in Fairfax, Va. at 10 a.m.
