UMW Outdoor Track Boasts Sereral PRs at Fred Hardy Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams turned in three personal records and several other top results at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond on Friday evening.

Junior Claire Harrington gained a PR in the pole vault, finishing in fifth place with a leap of 11 feet. In the 5000 meters, freshman Natalie Young finished in second place with a time of 17:43, and senior Liz Green ran a PR time of 18:12.

Lauren Braney ran a PR time of 4:51 in the 1500 meters. Cheyenne Falls finaled in the shot put at 39 feet, 11 inches. Nick Judy cleared 14 feet in the men's pole vault.

"We had a really good day", said UMW head coach Stan Soper. "In addition to the personal bests, we had a lot of great results across the board for both the men and women."

The Eagles will return to action on April 5 at the Frostburg State University Invitational.
