UMW Women Break Two School Records at CNU's Vince Brown Invite

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed at the Vince Brown Invitational on Saturday in Newport News, Va., breaking two school records on the day. Elysa Baker broke the school indoor weight throw record, set one week ago, with a throw of 45 feet, 5.75 inches. Junior Cheyenne Falls broke the school mark in the shot put, with a first-place winning throw of 40 feet, 4.25 inches. Teammate Taylor Cockerille placed second in the event at 38 feet, 8.75 inches. Natalie Young finished first in the 5000 meters with a time of 18 minutes, 18.42 seconds.

On the men's side, UMW's Zach Kerns ran the 400 meters in 51.90 seconds, and the 200 meters at 23.13 seconds. Nick Judy leapt 13 feet, nine inches in the pole vault.

Both the men's and women's teams will return to action on February 14 at Ursinus College.
