UMW Indoor Track and Field Captures Three School Records at Maryland Terrapin invite

Freshmen Glenn Taylor and Zach Zerns and junior Cheyenne Falls each set school indoor records to highlight the University of Mary Washington Indoor Track and Field teams' season opener on Saturday at the University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational.

Taylor, a local product from James Monroe High School, tied the school record in the 60 yard dash in prelims at 7.17 seconds, and then broke the record in finals at 7.14 seconds in placing fourth overall. Kerns took his school record in the 300 meters, with a time of 36.49 seconds.

Falls set a school mark in the shot put, with a throw of 39 feet, 8.5 inches. In other action, Nick Judy finished fourth in the pole vault at 13 feet, 9.25 inches, and Alyssa Baker made a throw of 41 feet, 4.25 inches in the weight throw.

The eagles will be back in action in full force on February 1 at the George Mason University Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
