YORK, Pa. - - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its Jan. 21, 2014, weekly award winners:

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

 Mary Washington senior AMBER KERICO (Sterling, Va./Park View) was awarded as the CAC Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for Jan. 21, 2014 after capturing three first-place finishes in the Eagles’ CAC victory over St. Mary’s. Kerico secured an individual victory in the 200 breastroke and contributed to winning relay squads in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle, helping the Eagles remain unbeaten in CAC competition.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD

Christopher Newport senior JESSICA McCLELLAND (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) and Mary Washington junior CHEYENNE FALLS (Buchanan, Va./James River) were honored as the CAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Jan. 21, 2014.

Falls was named the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week following a school-record setting toss in the shot put at the Maryland Invitational. Falls recorded a throw of 39’-8.5” to set a new indoor school mark for the Eagles in their season-opening meet.
