UMW Men's Track and Field Takes First at Gettysburg Mason-Dixon Meet

The University of Mary Washington men's track and field team finished in first place at the Gettysburg College Mason Dixon Championships on Saturday.The men's highlights included Nick Judy finishing first in the pole vault with a school-record leap of 15 feet, followed in second by Michael Lohr at 11 feet. Nathanitel Saint-Preux took first place in both the triple jump and long jump, and Mike Atkinson was first in the 800 meters at 1:56.3, first in the 200 meters at 23.03, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay. Dalton Echard won the 400 hurdles at 58.75, and Will Green finished second in the mile at 4:30.For the Eagle women, Cheyenne Falls took second in the shot put at 37 feet, 7.25 inches, and Kelsey Carter was second in the 800 meters. Senior Brooke Thompson was third in both the 400 and 100 hurdles.Both teams will be idle next weekend before competing in the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on May 4-5 at Salisbury University.
