UMW Men's and Women's Track & Field Competes at Gettysburg Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday.

For the women, freshman Paige Kelly finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 26.37; freshman Tara Landy took second in the 5000 meters at 19:50; Brooke Thompson took first in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.89; Michelle Sutherland took first in the 400 hurdles at 1:05.68, with Thompson finishing second; the 4x400 meter relay finished first with a time of 4:15.60.

On the men's side, Kevin Robertson took third in the 800 meters at 1:58.04; Sean Healy took first in the 5000 meters at 16:06.37; Dalton Echard took second in the 400 meter hurdles at 57.24; Chris Marino took first in the 3000 Steeplechase at 9:57 (in an event UMW finished 1-2-3); and Michael Lohr was second in the pole vault at 3.66 meters.

Both teams finished third in the team standings, and will be back in action on May 5-6 at the CAC Championships in Frostburg, Md.
