UMW Track and Field Competes at Towson/Johns Hopkins Invite

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Towson/Johns Hopkins University Invitational in Baltimore, Md. on Saturday.

For the men, the 4x800 meter relay finished second at 8:08.56; Stephen Harrison took fifth in the 1500 meter run at 4:02.23; Chris Anderson took fifth in the 800 meter run at 1:57.53; and Allan Meyer took fifth in the 400 meters at 50.97.

The women saw Brooke Thompson took fourth in the triple jump at 35 feet, four inches; Michelle Sutherland took second in the 400 meter dash at 49.26 and fourth in the long jump at 16 feet, five inches; and Claire Harrington took fourth in the pole vault at nine feet, 11.75 inches.

Both teams will be back in action next weekend at Gettysburg College.
