WOMEN'S TENNIS
Mary Washington
sophomore LINDSAY RAULSTON (Franklin, Va./Southampton Academy) was
named CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week after wins in all three
team matches last week against nationally-ranked opponents.
Raulston, who plays the No. 1 position for the 22nd-ranked Eagles,
won in straight sets against 19th-ranked Wellesley, 15th-ranked
University of the South and needed a tiebreaker to gain UMW's lone
point against 5th-ranked Carnegie Mellon. For the season,
Raulston boasts a 13-1 singles record.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Mary Washington senior
CHRIS MARINO (Portland, Conn./Portland) and York sophomore MARCUS
BAILEY (Piscatawayk, N.J./Piscataway) were selected as the CAC
Track & Field Athletes of the Week for March 27, 2012.
Marino was named the
CAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 3,000-meter
steeplechase (9:57.70) and finishing second in the 3,000-meter run
(9:31.93) at the UMW Battlegrown Relays.
Bailey was named the
CAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the
discus at the West Chester Golden Ram Invitational. Bailey's
toss of 41.22 meters trailed only Quintin Forbes of NCAA Division I
Delaware State in the 32-participant event.
