The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the Christopher Newport University Invitational on Saturday.

For the women, highlights included Brooke Thompson finishing with a time of 9.66 seconds in the 60 meter dash; Cheyenne Falls threw the shot put 35 feet, 3.75 inches; and Michelle Sutherland ran the 400 meters in a time of 1:02.1.

On the men's side, highlights included Matt Shaughnessy running the 800 meters in 1:58.97; Will Green running the mile at 4:34; and Matt Cronin throwing the shot put 39 feet, four inches.

Both teams will compete in two weeks at the first ever Capital Athletic Conference indoor championships.
