UMW Track and Field Teams in Contention After Day One of CAC Championships
The University of Mary Washington women's track and field team is in second place following the first day's action at the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Championships in Frostburg, Md., while the men are in contention in third place.

The Eagles saw several All-Conference performances on Saturday, as freshman Tara Landy finished first in the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:24.88; Paige Kelly took second in the 200 meters at 26.11; Brooke Thompson took first in the 100 meter hurdle preliminaries at 15.57 and second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.24 meters. Claire Harrington took second in the pole vault with a leap of 10 '00".

The championships will conclude on Sunday in Frostburg.
