UMW Track and Field Competes at Lynchburg Invite
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Lynchburg College Invitational on Saturday, with several top results.

For the men, Chris Marino finished first in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:44.37; Scott Matthiessen ran the 400 meters at 51.60; Bobby Tillett ran the 800 at 1:59.73; David Justis ran the 1500 meters at 4:07.88, and Matt Geller finished fourth in the shot put.

On the women's side, Amanda Zapata was fourth in the javelin at 98 feet, 11 inches, Sarah Dawes was fourth in the 1500 meters at 4:51.79, Michelle Sutherland ran the 400 meter hurdles in 1:08.73, and Katelyn Keller ran the 400 meters in 61.86 seconds.

The Eagles will compete at the Capital Athletic Conference championships next weekend in York, Pa.
