UMW Men's and Women's Track and Field Take 2nd at York Green and White Invite
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams both finished in second place to the host Spartans at the York College Green and White Invitational on Saturday in the White Rose City.

Winners for the Eagle women included Brooke Thompson in the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.60), the 4x400 women's relay (Kelsey Carter, Katelyn Keller, Michelle Sutherland, Stacy Keser) at 4:19.37, and Amanda Zapata in the javelin (29.87 meters).

For the Eagle men, first places were gained by Phil Wahman among collegiate runners in the 800 meters (2:03.34) - an event in which the Eagles finished 1-2-3; Scott Plunkett in the 1500 meters (4:11.60) - an event that saw UMW finish 1-2-3-4-5; Matt Geller in the discus (40.11 meters); and Geller in the hammer throw (42.93 meters).

The Eagles will compete next weekend at the Lynchburg College Invitational.
