Indoor Track Kicks Off 2011 at Father Diamond Invitational
The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams kicked off the 2011 season with several athletes competing at the Father Diamond Invitational on Saturday in Fairfax, Va. at George Mason University.

Junior Nicole Ditto (Richmond, Va., Mills Godwin) leapt to a distance of 34 feet, nine inches in the triple jump as the top women's finish of the day. For the men, David Justis (Spotsylvania, Va., Spotsylvania) ran the 1000 meters at 2:48, Sean Herlihy (Afton, Va., Western Albemarle) ran the 400 meters at 55.44, Dalton Echard (Fairfax, Va., W.T. Woodson) ran the 60 meter hurdles in 9.34, and Ben Tuxbury (New Hartford, Conn., Northwestern) ran the 500 meters in 1:13.

The Eagles will compete in full force at the University of Maryland Invitational in two weeks.
