Cash Sets School Record in 800 as UMW Track Competes at Messiah Invite
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Messiah College Invitational on Saturday in Grantham, Pa., with several top results.

Senior Matt Cash (Fredericksburg, Va., Stafford) finished first in the 800 meters, with an NCAA provisional qualifying time and new school record time of 1:51.79. Matt Geller finished second in the hammer throw at 144 feet, seven inches, and Jeremy Burke took fourth at 137 feet, three inches.

Jason Driscoll took third in the 1500 meters at 4:02.77, and Nate Boyarsky was third in the javelin at 179 feet, three inches.

For the women, Nicolle Ditto leapt 34 feet, 4.25 inches in the triple jump, and 15 feet, 3.75 inches in the long jump. Mara Cate was first in the 800 meters at 2:25, and Sarah Dawes was third in the 1500 meters at 4:55.74. Yun Lee had the top time in qualifying in the 100 meters at 13.26.

The Eagles will compete in the Capital Athleticf Conference Championships at Salisbury University next Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
