The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped its second round Capital Athletic Conference tournament game at Christopher Newport University on Friday, after winning their opener in the morning. The Eagles will continue in the tournament on Friday.

The Captains pulled ahead with two runs in the first, and one in the second. CNU added four in the fourth and two in the sixth to end the game.

Hannah Hautz doubled and Amy Sykes singled for UMW. Erin Stinson took the loss for the Eagles, allowing the two first inning runs.

UMW will face off against either York College or Salisbury University on Friday at noon in an elimination game.
