UMW Softball Drops Doubleheader at #5 Salisbury on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped a pair of games at fifth-ranked Salisbury on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 11-27 overall and 6-8 in conference play.

In the first game, Salisbury owned an 11-0 lead by the end of the third inning. Malia Rogers scored the Eagles only run of the game in the fourth off a Brittney Haynes single up the middle. Salisbury scored again in the fourth inning to cap the scoring at 12-1. Courtney Merson took the loss for the Eagles.

In the second game, Salisbury owned a 10-0 lead by the end of the third inning. The Eagles scored in the fourth when Steffanie Asselanis drove in Lindsey Aylor off a single to center. Kara Deppe took the loss for the Eagles.

Before the CAC tournament kicks off on Thursday morning, the Eagles are back in action on Tuesday as they host Lynchburg College for a non-conference doubleheader at 3:00pm.
