Sophomore pitcher Rachel Johnson (Preston, Md./Colonel Richardson), who led Salisbury to its 18th-straight regular-season conference championship, was named the 2013 CAC Player of the Year.  It is the 17th-consecutive year, and 18th time in the last 19 years, a Sea Gull has won the conference’s top player award.

The CAC coaches picked 11 Salisbury representatives for the All-CAC, including Johnson and Margie Knight, who won her sixth-straight CAC Coach of the Year award.  Knight was honored by her peers for the 12th time since 1997.

Gravdahl and Read are both four-time All-CAC selections while Mills is a three-time all-star and Johnson is making her second appearance on the all-conference squad.

Sea Gulls on the second-team All-CAC squad include junior first baseman Harley Hill (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown), Lindsay McCabe (Frankford, Del./Indian River) and freshman shortstop Katie Sebbane (Frederick, Md./Urbana).  Hill, the 2011 CAC Co-Rookie of the Year, is a three-time second team all-star while McCabe was a first-team pick in 2011.

Frostburg State advanced to the CAC championship game for the third-straight year and was rewarded with nine berths on the 2013 All-CAC team, including freshman pitcher Mary Ann Moore (Lanham, Md./Elizabeth Seton) as Rookie of the Year.  She joins junior teammate Caitlin Lovend (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) as FSU players to win the top rookie award in FSU’s three years as a member of the CAC.  Lovend was the Co-Rookie of the Year in 2010.

Bobcat senior outfielder Taylor freshman third baseman Taylor Vandegriff (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and freshman third baseman Renay Aubel (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) joined Moore and Lovend on the 2013 All-CAC first-team.  Lovend and Vandegriff are now three-time All-CAC honorees.
