The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped a 4-1 decision to visiting Frostburg State University in the second round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament on Friday. The Eagles fall to 18-20 on the season.
Mary Washington was limited to five hits on the day, with Brandee Adams gaining a single, double, and RBI, and Michelle Durnavich adding a double. Frostburg scored three times in the fourth after three scoreless frames, and each team scored a run in the fifth.
Danielle Cunetta took the loss for UMW, allowing three runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings, with a walk and five strikeouts.
The Eagles will face Stevenson University in an elimination game in Salisbury on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
