UMW Softball Splits Pair at Methodist Invitational
The University of Mary Washington softball team split a pair of games at the Methodist University Tournament on Saturday. The Eagles fell to Louisiana College, 11-0, before topping North Carolina Wesleyan College, 3-1.

The Eagles were limited to one hit against Louisiana College, a single by Bireet Chitty (Stafford, Va., Brooke Point). Nicole Black (Stafford, Va., North Stafford) took the loss, allowing four hits and three runs.

In the win over N.C. Wesleyan, the Eagles scored runs in each of the first three innings in the win. Morgan Lamon (Herndon, Va., Oakton), Chitty, and Michelle Durnavich (Stafford, Va., Brooke Point) each drove in runs for the Eagles attack. Elizabeth Crowe (Alexandria, Va., West Potomac) allowed one run in seven innings, on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

The Eagles will continue on their spring break trip in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Monday.
