UMW Softball Drops Pair to CNU

The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Christopher Newport University on Tuesday. Game scores were 10-0 and 10-2.

In the opener, the Eagles had four hits, including two each from Amanda Adams (Ashburn, Va., Stone Bridge) (single and double) and Brandee Adams (Waverly, Va., Tidewater Academy) (two singles).

In the second game, the Eagles fell, 10-2. Sophomore Morgan Lamon (Herndon, Va., Oakton) hit a solo home run and also singled and scored UMW's other run on an Elizabeth Crowe (Alexandria, Va., West Potomac) single.

The Eagles also got hits from Kaitlin Petrella, Katherine Preseren and two from Krissy Leber in the game.

Mary Washington will visit Stevenson University on Thursday at 3:00 for a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader.
