GAME TWO

The University of Mary Washington softball team dropped a pair of games at Lynchburg College on Saturday. The Eagles dropped the opener, 12-0 in five innings, before dropping the nightcap, 1-0.

Amanda Adams (Ashburn, Va., Stone Bridge) led the Eagles in game one with a pair of hits, while Koah Chitty (Stafford, Va., Brooke Point), Kim Olinger (Bealeton, Va., Liberty), and Elizabeth Crowe (Alexandria, Va., West Potomac) all added hits as well. The Hornets scored twice in the first, seven in the second, and three in the third inning.

In the nightcap, the Eagles lost a pitching duel, as freshman Annie Blaine (Arlington, Va., Yorktown) took a tough-luck loss after allowing just three hits and a walk in six innings with five strikeouts. Blaine helped her own cause with two hits to pace the Eagles, while Adams, Crowe, and Chitty each had safeties for UMW.

The Eagles will host Shenandoah University on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
