Men's Tennis Picked to Finish Atop C2C Standings

The Mary Washington men's tennis team is favored to defend its title in the 2024 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Men's Tennis Preseason Poll following a survey of the C2C head coaches.  The Eagles garnered 16 points and four first-place votes.

UMW, who enters the spring ranked 37th in the nation, welcomes back a wealth of talent in defense of its C2C crown. Seniors Rishi Charan Shankar and Peter Leese closed the fall ranked 10th in the nation in doubles, having won the ITA regional title. Other all-conference performers Andrew Cooper, Artis Hart, and Brock Ladehoff also return for UMW, who has won 21 conference titles since 2000, including the past two years. Juniors Drew Campbell and Ryan Meyer will challenge for top-six honors, as will sophomore Jacob Pfab and a talented freshman class that includes Evan Fisher, Trevor Rein, Jack Riordan, and Albert Vladimirskiy.

The 2024 spring season opens in mid-February and concludes with the C2C Tennis Championships May 3-5 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Teams will be seeded based on Massey Ratings and will be finalized the Monday before the tournament.

The Eagles begin regular season play against Averett at home on Feb. 17.
